Mariachi de Oro

Since 1991, El Mariachi de Oro™ has been at the fore-front of the Dallas/Ft.Worth mariachi scene. Dedicated to quality and professionalism and with over 20 years of performance experience, El Mariachi de Oro has become the premiere mariachi ensemble in North Texas!

El Mariachi de Oro™ is led by Musical Director Felipe Diaz Jr., a graduate of UT Arlington School of Music who is currently a Mariachi Educator in the Dallas Independent School District and Manager Roberto Rueda Jr. who has over 10 years of management with Tarrant County College. The group generally performs traditional and original arrangements of some of Mexico’s most recognized musical pieces for all occasions; weddings, quinceañeras, anniversaries, parties and best of all, stage performances. No matter what the occasion Mariachi de Oro™ brings the most festive and traditional Mexican performance for their fans and clients!

Over the years El Mariachi de Oro™ has accumulated various performance awards including The Little Joe Living Legends Award for Best Upcoming Local Talent as well as taking 1st Place:Open Division and 1st Place: Overall at Mariachi Espectacular: National Mariachi Competition in Albuquerque, New Mexico in 2003.

In 2005, Mariachi de Oro™, took stage with the two most recognized mariachi ensembles in the world El Mariachi Sol de Mexico de Jose Hernandez and El Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlan. The Mariachi Espectacular concert which was held in Fort Worth, with Special Performances by Pablo Montero and Alicia Villarreal, demonstrated to the public the capacity and caliber of this young group and cemented Mariachi de Oro as amongst the best groups in Texas.

Since then, Mariachi de Oro™ has performed on stage alongside some of the genres most recognized and beloved artists including Grammy Award Winner Little Joe, Joe Lopez of Grupo Mazz, Marco Antonio Solis, Chelo, Antonio Aguilar Jr., Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlan, Mariachi Mujer 2000, Mariachi Campanas de America, Mariachi Aguilas de America de Jesus Rodriguez de Hijar, The Fort Worth Symphony and 2 Time Grammy Award Winner Mariachi Sol de Mexico.

In 2006, Mariachi de Oro™ along with the Fort Worth Symphony recorded “Ella” written by Jose Alfredo Jimenez. The piece was sung by DECCA© Records recording artist and Tenor Juan Diego Florez on his album “Sentimiento Latino”, which he dedicated to the wonderful music of Latin America.

In 2015, Mariachi de Oro was presented a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Fort Worth Artes de la Rosa Board for their work in representing the Hispanic Culture in the city of Fort Worth, TX.

Mariachi de Oro has the honor of being selected as the 1st mariachi to ever perform for the Dallas Mavericks Halftime Show which took place in 2016 in celebration of the NBA’s Hispanic Culture Awareness Week. Mariachi de Oro has continued to perform for the NBA Dallas Mavericks and the WNBA Dallas Wings.
